Here are some things that I know for sure:

  1. The world is far from perfect.
  2. Women and girls are especially affected by the world’s imperfections, like poverty and inequality.
  3. Women and girls also have the strength, smarts, and power to make HUGE change.

I look at all the conversations that Nana, Masia and Eternia had with all of you over the past few weeks and I hear loud and clear that when you see the world around you, you look for ways to make it better.

That’s why I joined the Because I am a Girl team: because we have the power to make change.

For the next little while I’m going to keep you posted about the issues that affect women and girls around the world.  I’m also going to keep you posted on the things that you can do about it.

Just a bit about me: I’m a young person who decided to know about the issues and try to do something about them.  I’m still learning every day, and I’m going to share some of my learning here.

Mostly, I want to hear about issues close to your heart, what you saw and heard this week, your expert tips on holding events and fundraisers and taking action…
