Hi Everyone ! Jon here from the documentary crew.

After working hard for the past two months, we have finally completed the rough assembly of the Because I Am A Girl documentary.

Together with our excellent editor Jon Eagan, we have created something really special.

A “rough assembly” means that we have found our basic structure and now need to finesse it. After looking through almost 40 hours of footage, we have chosen the best comments, concerns, interview footage and visual shots from each city we travelled to.

It is now time to finesse what we have and move towards working on the audio and color correction. After all, the documentary needs to look and sound sharp before it premiers on the big screen !

While there is still much work to be done, we are all super pleased with what we accomplished over our documentary shoot. After looking at the footage two months later with “fresh” eyes, the impact of your voices is more resonant than ever before !

A special thanks to all those who have put work thus far into making this rough assembly possible, and we can’t wait to share this with the world.

All the best from our production offices in downtown Toronto, and stay tuned for future updates.
