The torch has almost reached Vancouver and the snow has been trucked and flown in. It can only mean one thing: the Vancouver 2010 Olympics are about to start!
Freestyle Mogul Skier and Because I am a Girl Ambassador Jennifer Heil will kick off the competitions with her events on February 13, 2010 and has the chance to win Canada’s first gold on our home turf!
As well as being a champion on the slopes, Jenn is a champion for girls through her involvement with the Because I am a Girl Campaign. In 2008 she travelled with Plan to Burkina Faso to learn about the issues faced by girls there.
When Jenn asked the girls she met in Burkina Faso about what education meant to them, they told her,
“Now, we have opportunities to be full citizens of tomorrow.”
We’re also cheering for Because I am a Girl supporter Hayley Wickenheiser and the rest of the Canadian Women’s Hockey Team who compete over the next two weeks.
Both athletes are at the top of their game because they followed their dreams. Their commitment to Because I am a Girl shows that they want to make sure that girls around the world have the opportunity follow their own dreams as well.
Jenn and Hayley, we hope you rock at the 2010 Olympics! Leave your cheers for these amazing ladies in the comments section!

I don’t agree with everything in this blog post, but you do make some very good points. Im very interested in this subject and I myself do alot of research as well. Either way it was a well thoughtout and nice read so I figured I would leave you a comment. Feel free to check out my website sometime and let me know what you think.

I know it’s no where near as good as you interesting posts here but let me at least give you a smile as a form of thanks for your hard work writing this stuff?
If you’re not having fun, then you’re not doing it right.
