What does it mean when something is “On the Agenda”?

This little piece of jargon comes up allllll the time. You’ll hear activists saying, “we need to get that on the agenda” and politicians saying, “it’s certainly on my agenda.”

Basically, if its on the agenda, it means its gonna get talked about.

Imagine you have a to do list in front of you. If it’s on your to do list, it’s on your agenda. And the higher up it is on that list, the more likely you’re going to get to it. And the more important it is to you, the more likely you’re going to do it well.

So, when it comes to girls (and all the things that affect girls, like human rights, the environment, and women in general), we want them ON THE AGENDA.

We want them high up on the agenda.
