We’re all home – safe and sound! What a journey it has been! Torey, Jon, Liz and I have met the creme of the crop – Cool girls (to say the least), inspired and inspiring!

We thank soooooo many of you for sharing your stories and encourage those we didn’t meet to share their heartfelt words, opinions and ideas here on the Because I Am A Girl website. We won’t be coming to your city but you can still be a part of the documentary and more importantly the campaign and movement! Post you blogs here and upload your own videos.

Here’s the deal – We need to be aware of the plight and unfair challenges affecting girls everywhere and as lucky ones – here in Canada – we need to do something! So what I ask… Just read all our blogs over the last month? Take a look back at the beginning, where we startedd this journey, alongside with you to make sure we stay aware and we all move into action. The drive across Canada may be over but the challenges facing us are not so please stay on top of things and make sure to drive Because I Am A Girl into ACTION.

Next time we talk on this blog – I hope to hear from you and know what our next step will be?

hugs,

Simoneeeee

    Iraqi Refugees Turn To prostitution
many of the girls young 14 and 15 year olds are being forced into selling them selves
here are a couple websites ou should check out if you really care about the inhumanities of this world and it corruption. http://www.countercurrents.org/sinan251007.htm , http://www.countercurrents.org/iraq-fontan260704.htm , http://www.salon.com/life/broadsheet/2007/07/12/survival_sex/print.html, I wish i could join something where i can help stop this cruelty , a lot of these girls are only children... i'd love to even be a journalist . I'm a quater iraqi, greek, ukrainian and polish so i really hate when double standardism takes place, sexism, abuse, greed, and men whom think they're king shit aren't doing anything to prevnt this chaos. its all about power, money, sex. Im sure there are good people, but according to the figures in some of these articles from un numbers of young prostituetes are sickening high and if they're wern't men in request for them they wouldnt be there. A lot of them are kindnapped. My father denies it. My husband whos been living their denies it. Something should be done about these inhumane treatment of young girls being raped and sold for their virginity. READ THE ARTICLES and OPEN YOUR EYES. The SYSTEM is CORRUPT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
