The Because I am a Girl documentary film crew has wrapped up its month-long, cross country trip but we’re not sitting still.
The 411 TV:Because I am a Girl School Tour has just hit the road in Ontario with a cool concert and mock live-to-TV Talk Show to keep building the buzz on how investing in girls is key to eliminating poverty and creating a safer, brighter future for girls.
The show features Hip-hop artists Eternia and Masia One, who use their music and experiences to generate discussion about girls’ issues. There’ll also be guest interviews, live performances and satellite interviews from around the world.
Program host is Nana Aba Duncan, a broadcast journalist who currently hosts the contest segment on GO! every Saturday on CBC Radio One. Nana Aba was also a radio reporter in Ghana.
Follow the tour through Nana’s experiences as she regularly blogs here along with Masia One and Eternia. Nana’s already started so check out her great post about the awesome night in Brampton – First Stop on the School Tour.
And before we leave the documentary film makers holed up in their studio, editing hours of video from interviews with hundreds of girls across Canada, check out their video trailer below. It’s the first sneak peek of the Because I am a Girl documentary to be released to theatres next year.
