HELLOOOOOOO HALIFAX!

Micaela thinks, it's what's inside that counts!

When asked where she was from, Michaela answered “Canada”, rather than any province or city. Michaela’s dad is in the air force and has been posted all over the country since she was born.  As a result, she sees herself being from everywhere in Canada.  A perception I happen to admire – What if we were all as well traveled as Michaela? What if we all moved around the world? Would we finally look past our backyards and consider ourselves citizens of this world. Would we be  people who cared about other’s on the global front? Michaela is die hard  BECAUSE I AM A GIRL fan – she’s been reading the blog every night, educating her friends and teachers at school, and even has her own BECAUSE I AM A GIRL. notebook! She’s become aware and even better, she’s sharing what she knows. I think we – me and you – could all learn a lot  from her. Thanks Michaela for the wonderful day!

A book of inspiration.

Michaela's book of inspiration.

In other news – we’ve got some plans for our time in Halifax – so listen up! Tomorrow –  Producer extraordinaire, Liz, will be on CTV A Channel, in the morning – BRIGHT AND EARLY – at 7:15AM.  She’s a cute one so try not to miss her. After that, we head to Scared Heart High school to chat with girls about their concerns for girls worldwide. We’ll be driving around Halifax in our trusty van so be on the look out, if you see us – come say hello! On Saturday we’ll be at the Halifax Shopping Centre between 12-2PM (near the food court). Make sure you show up with your release forms or parents so that you can talk to us on camera and take part in the documentary! We’re only in Halifax for a short time and then we pack up again and head to Vancouver – so don’t miss out on some one on one time with us!

hugs,  Simoneeeeeeeeeeee

Michaela is great isn't she. Hi I am Auntie Gale and we are so proud of her. I have a daughter who went over to Afghanistan. While she was there we joined her in Bancok for 10 days. There were lots of stree walkers around. I can see that country needs lots of help. Keep up the good work and keep the work out for these girls. Gale

Michaela is so correct, it is what is inside that counts. She is an excellent representative to support the rights of girls thus making a difference. Because common sense isn't so common, I am proud that our niece has common sense. She will be able to lead by example to help the equalization of respect, pay and all rights of girls and women.

You appear to be a very mature and caring young lady. You are right. The inside is what matters not the outer shell of a person. I wish more young people had your attitude. You have impressed your American relatives. We wish you all the best in this new project.
