I read this quote somewhere, and of course I
LOVE IT!!
Anyway, it gave me an idea to do a post of my favourite girl quotes. From some of my favourite girls, of course!
Probably my worst quality is that I get very passionate about what I think is right.
Hillary Clinton, US Secretary of State
The thing women have yet to learn is nobody gives you power. You just take it.
Roseanne Barr, actress
A voice is a human gift; it should be cherished and used, to utter fully human speech as possible. Powerlessness and silence go together.
Margaret Atwood, author
In too many instances, the march to globalization has also meant the marginalization of women and girls. And that must change.
Hillary Clinton, US Secretary of State
What do 600 million girls and Alice in Wonderland have in common? Answer. They’ve all tumbled down a rabbit hole…into a dark tunnel … confronted by barriers …locked doors … feeling unsure… out of place. Lost in a world where there is no sense, where nonsense prevails.
Queen Rania of Jordan
Therefore my challenge to each of you … is that you ask yourself what you can do to make a difference. And then take that action, no matter how large or how small.
Graca Machel, former First Lady of South Africa and Mozambique
Each of these women is working to change the lives of girls in some way, and believes in both the need to make change but also girls’ power to do so. Share your favourite quotes by amazing women in the comments section! I’d love to hear them!
Here are some notable quotes:
Understand that the right to choose your own path is a sacred privilege. Use it. Dwell in possibility - Oprah
I'm competitive with myself. I always try to push past my own borders. - Tyra Banks
Good Comments. I agree with your point.
"Love life, engage in it, give it all you've got. Love it with a passion, because life truly does give back, many times over, what you put into it.” ~ Maya Angelou
“Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, "I will try again tomorrow.” ~Mary Anne Radmacher
I love all of these quotes but the one that stays with me is a voice is a human gift..... Too often girls and women are silenced with aggression, etc and their talents and gifts do not come out. These are masked by what seems to be shyness, low self esteem, sarcasm, humour rather than action. In order to see girls fulfill lofty dreams they must feel that their voices will be heard and that they have something to say. And this has to start in childhood.
Thanks Natasha, Jane, Locksmith and MoodyChick for your comments!
I love the Mary Anne Radmacher quote!
"May you live your life as if the maxim of your actions were to become universal law." - Immanual Kant

Found another great one:
"Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin." (Mother Teresa)
When we speak we are afraid our words will not be heard or welcomed.
But when we are silent, we are still afraid.
So it is better to speak.
~ Audre Lorde ~
Great quotes! Here are some I like from some AMAZING women.

"I believe that ignorance is the root of all evil. And that no one knows the truth." Molly Ivins
"You don't have to be anti-man to be pro-woman." Jane galvin Lewis
"Women need not always keep their mouths shut and their wombs open." Emma goldman
"Whatever women do they must do twice as well as men to be thought half as good. Luckily, this is not difficult." Charlotte whitton
